Don't Look at Me

You know, after years and years of the ebbing and flowing of my life, I am really, now, trying and striving to live for Jesus, without being disappointed by people around me. I have, way too often, backslidden because of others letting me down. The song "Don't Look At Me" really is true, but I have to put it as "Don't Look at Them" If you are not familiar with the lyrics, here they are:

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.

I can glean from the wisdom of other Christians, but ultimately, I need to keep my focus on Jesus. If I do, I will never be let down, or disappointed in Him. People will ALWAYS let us down. We are not perfect. Yet, we should not be satisfied by where we are today, but strive to be more like Christ, who is the author and perfector of our faith. I want to keep these thoughts in my mind, as I live in a Christian family, who do not always live up to what I think they should be. It doesn't matter what I think. My life should reflect Christ, and draw others to the sweet aroma of His love.
