Tame the Tongue

My verses for the MOMS group this week:

James 3: 8-10

but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be

The other part of this chapter speaks of examples: Can a fresh well produce salt? Can a fig tree produce olives? Vice versa? No, then we should learn to tame our tongue because just as a large ship is steered with the small rudder, our lives are guided in most part by our mouths, our tongue, our words. A large animal like a horse is tamed by the tongue, with a bit placed in it, and whenever the master rider pulls the reigns, the horse complies. The tongue is so powerful. We can lift up or tear down with what passes through. I pray everyday, as a Sanguin, to allow God to use my words, and even if I say too much, may those words still touch someone, and not fill them with contempt. I love to talk, and when you love to talk, you are BOUND to say the wrong thing now and then. Let me learn to shut up sometimes! I have noticed God has begun taming my tongue. Prayer really does work. Prayer along with aligning myself with His will.
