I took the kids down to the Lorraine Motel today. I wanted to make a statement with our presence, that King's dream has come true, and I was there, along with my kids, and even my mom joined us, to show the media, people of Memphis, and my kids, that we are living as one people. I am very hopeful for the future of Memphis now. I know that no matter what negative voices say, all people have the same hopes and dreams, just different backgrounds to work through. The King may have died, but the queens can rise up and carry the torch until everyone is full of light. Here are some pictures. Hillary was there, and was interviewed by NBC's Brian Williams. I was actually in the background of the video on the nightly news tonight, but it was only available on the webpage video. Me in front of the secret service car, and Hillary and NBC is behind me in the media tent:And I got some pics of Monique outside of the motel, and I was in front of A. C. Wharton at the Peabody Place Starbucks. My mom introduced us, and he said he knew my dad, and what he does, etc. It was a very interesting day. We weathered a mega flash flood just to get down there and make our stand! It let up as we got there! My car broke down, and is still in the shop there, so we hiked 3 miles or more to our final destination. It was well worth it.
While waiting on the repair shops prognosis of my car, we picniced in the Domino's Pizza Carry Out Entry Way-It was pouring and the nice man even gave us plates and napkins :)
